Giovanni Pernice, who recently experienced a tumultuous exit from Strictly Come Dancing, was spotted wearing a smile and sharing laughter for the first time in weeks.
The Italian dancer, 33, enjoyed a candlelit dinner at the Royal Opera House with his former dance partner from the BBC show, Rose Ayling-Ellis.
The pair had previously triumphed, winning the coveted glitterball trophy during the 2021 series of the show.
Light-Hearted Moments at Dinner
In a brief video shared on his Instagram story, Giovanni seemed to let loose and enjoy himself during his dinner outing with Rose.
He playfully invited her to have a glass of prosecco, and she accepted the offer.
The scene was captured as Giovanni chuckled and relished the moment.

During their dinner, a light-hearted exchange occurred.
Rose, looking cozy in a fleece white jumper and gold-rimmed glasses, inquired about Giovanni’s reason for offering her prosecco.
Giovanni cheekily responded, “Because you’ve got smelly breath,” followed by a good-natured laugh.
Playful Teasing and Reconciliation
Rose was clearly unimpressed with his remark, prompting Giovanni to explain that it was due to the onion soup she had consumed earlier.
In response, Rose humorously declared, “That’s peppermint, no onion soup anymore – it’s now olive breath!” Giovanni, filled with laughter, apologized for his playful accusation.
A Special Evening at the Royal Opera House
The pair enjoyed their evening at the prestigious Royal Opera House, attending a performance of “The Cellist.”
It was evident that their bond extended beyond the dance floor, as Giovanni and Rose have remained close since their Strictly victory.
Supportive Ties and Recent Career Move
Rose demonstrated her support for Giovanni by liking his Instagram post dedicated to his current partner, Amanda Abbington.
Giovanni recently returned to Strictly after Amanda’s departure due to medical reasons.
However, his absence from the show had left him visibly longing and somber.
Giovanni’s heartwarming reunion with Rose comes in the wake of his exciting career development.
He announced the launch of a new unisex cologne called “Vita,” the Italian word for ‘life.’
