Georgia Toffolo and her fiancé James Watt surprised everyone by getting married in a spontaneous elopement on Saturday.
The couple chose North East Scotland as the location for their intimate ceremony, keeping their plans under wraps until the very last minute.
In fact, guests received just 48 hours’ notice to attend the surprise wedding.
The newlyweds had previously hinted that they’d marry this year, and they stayed true to their word.
Engagement and Wedding Details
James, the millionaire BrewDog founder, proposed to Georgia in October during a romantic getaway to Greece for her 30th birthday.
He presented her with a stunning eight-carat triple-diamond ring, which is said to be worth around £200,000.
Just months after the proposal, the couple made their wedding official with a charming, low-key ceremony in Scotland.
Social Media Announcement
Taking to Instagram, Georgia shared some sweet photos from the day, showing the happy couple on a fishing boat moments after exchanging vows. She wrote, “James and I got married today.
1st March will forever be the best day of my life – the day I became your wife.
We eloped! Guests: whoever could get here with 48 hours notice! Temperature: 6°C. Wind: 17 knots North Westerly. Location: North East Scotland.
To our family and friends who aren’t with us, we will celebrate with you soonest!”
Georgia’s Bridal Look and James’ Unique Outfit
On her special day, Georgia looked radiant in a cream, off-the-shoulder fleece dress, a perfect choice for the chilly weather in Scotland.
Her blonde hair was styled elegantly in an updo, and she accessorized with delicate diamond earrings and a flowing veil.
Although her chunky brown boots may not have been the typical bridal choice, they were likely a practical decision for the photoshoot on the boat.
James, on the other hand, kept things casual with a cream beanie hat, a thick cream jumper, and blue fishing overalls.
A Fun and Unconventional Celebration
The couple seemed to embrace the unique vibe of their wedding, playfully interacting with lobsters and sharing different expressions during the photoshoot.
Their laid-back wedding showed that sometimes, simplicity and spontaneity can create the most memorable moments.
