Former Scotland Rugby Captain Stuart Hogg Arrested Outside Ex-Wife’s Home Amidst Disturbing Allegations

In a surprising turn of events, former Scotland rugby captain Stuart Hogg faced legal troubles last weekend, as reports emerged of his arrest outside his ex-wife’s home.

The retired rugby icon, who left the sport ahead of the World Cup last

year, was apprehended on suspicion of causing fear and alarm by allegedly acting in a threatening or abusive manner.

Incident Following a Rugby Event

Stuart Hogg had seemingly attended a rugby event alongside various celebrities, including actor Martin Compston and chef Greg Wallace.

The event was to watch Scotland play against England in the Six Nations at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium.

Despite sharing images on social media celebrating Scotland’s victory, reports indicate that he was arrested just hours later at his old family home in Hawick, Roxburghshire.

Arrest and Legal Proceedings

The arrest took place around 5 pm on Saturday, with Hogg subsequently taken to Hawick police station.

He was later released but is expected to appear in court soon after a report was submitted to prosecutors.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the arrest, stating that a 31-year-old man was arrested and charged, being released with an undertaking to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court at a later date. A report is set to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Previous Incidents and Legal Involvement

This isn’t the first time Stuart Hogg has been involved in legal matters. Reports suggest that police were called at the beginning of the year, alleging his participation in a New Year’s Day family altercation at his brother’s house.

Hogg’s personal life has also been under scrutiny since his split from his wife Gillian last year.

He has four children with Gillian and went public with his relationship with jockey and Sky Sports presenter Leonna Mayor.

The retired rugby player was also awarded an MBE last year for his significant contributions to the sport.

Family Struggles and Retirement Decision

Stuart Hogg’s personal life reportedly faced challenges, with allegations that he refused to leave the family home upon his split from his then-pregnant ex-partner.

She had moved in with her parents along with their three children.

Hogg announced his retirement from rugby, citing a desire to spend more time with his family.

However, the recent arrest raises questions about the retired rugby legend’s current circumstances and legal matters he now confronts.
