…By Lola Smith for TDPel Media. Former President Muhammadu Buhari has made his way back to his hometown of Daura in Katsina State, shortly after leaving Abuja on Monday.
As reported by Naija News, Buhari departed from Eagles Square, the venue of the presidential inauguration ceremony, right after officially handing over the government to his successor, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Accompanied by his wife Aisha, Buhari drove directly to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, where they were bid farewell by some of their former aides before heading to Daura.
It is worth noting that the former president had expressed his eagerness to return to Daura and resume his pastoral work.
Upon their arrival in Daura, Buhari and his immediate family were welcomed by a large crowd of residents.
A video obtained by Naija News from Daily Trust captured the enthusiastic reception, with Daura residents cheering and chanting “Oyoyo Baba,” which translates to “welcome back.”
