Former President Buhari Departs Abuja for Hometown After Handing Over Power to Tinubu

…By Dorcas Funmi for TDPel Media. Following the official handover of power to President Bola Tinubu, former President Muhammadu Buhari left Abuja and headed to Daura, his hometown in Katsina State.

Buhari’s departure from Eagles Square, where the presidential inauguration ceremony took place, occurred immediately after the handover.

Buhari and Aides Bid Farewell at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport

A short while ago, Buhari and his wife, Aisha, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

They were accompanied by some of their former aides who bid them farewell as they embarked on their journey to Daura.

Among those present to bid farewell were Femi Adesina, Buhari’s former special adviser on media and publicity, and Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

Ministers and Dignitaries Present at the Airport

Several ministers were also present at the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport, including Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour; Sadiya Faruk, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs; and Mohammed Bello, the FCT Minister.

They were there to see off the former President and his wife.

Obstacles Faced by Governor Ganduje and Governor Soludo at Inauguration Ceremony

During the swearing-in ceremony of President Tinubu at Eagle Square in Abuja, outgoing Kano state Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and current Anambra state Governor Charles Soludo encountered difficulties.

They attempted to enter the section designated for dignitaries with their green invitation cards, but security operatives stopped them, explaining that only individuals with gold cards were allowed access.

Ganduje and Soludo’s Response to the Situation

Ganduje and his wife waited for more than 10 minutes before realizing they would not be granted entry.

Eventually, they returned to the section reserved for individuals with green invitation cards.

Similarly, Soludo had a brief altercation with the security operatives but eventually decided to join the section designated for those with green invitation cards.
