An official statement shared on social media informed the baseball community of DeLeon’s departure, expressing that “Our beloved has departed to heaven.”
The announcement also included details of the funeral services scheduled for Monday, February 26, from 11 am to 7 pm at the Jardin Memorial de la Jacobo Majluta funeral home.
The final tribute would continue on Tuesday in February at 10 am, culminating with a mass. The message concluded with a heartfelt prayer: “Give him, Lord, eternal rest and let perpetual light shine upon him.”
