San Francisco-based private equity firm FFL Partners has closed its sixth investment fund, FFL Capital Partners VI, L.P., and related investment vehicles, securing more than $1.35 billion in total commitments.

The firm raised capital from a diverse group of investors, including existing backers and new participants.

The investor base comprises public and private pension funds, financial institutions, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and family offices.

Fund VI Targets Healthcare and Technology-Enabled Services

FFL Partners will continue applying its Sector Exploration and Expertise Development (SEED) strategy through the new fund, maintaining the investment approach used in its previous funds.

The strategy focuses on companies operating in healthcare and technology-enabled services.

FFL targets businesses with strong growth prospects, competitive market positions, limited exposure to economic cycles and experienced management teams.

Investments Range From $50 Million to $200 Million

Fund VI will make equity investments ranging from $50 million to $200 million in transactions involving either controlling stakes or significant minority ownership positions.

FFL Partners has already begun deploying capital from the fund into companies across its core investment sectors.

These investments include Janus RX, Pioneer HOA, Waylin Partners and Ally Technical.

Firm Reports More Than $7 Billion in Cumulative Commitments

FFL Partners is led by Managing Partners Cas Schneller and Chris Harris.

The firm uses its proprietary SEED process to identify investment opportunities and develop value-creation strategies for companies within its target sectors.

With the close of Fund VI, FFL Partners has accumulated more than $7 billion in total capital commitments over the course of its investment activities.
