FBI Arrests Texas Man Anas Said for Allegedly Plotting 9/11 Style Terrorist Attack Targeting Military Centers in Houston

A Texas man, Anas Said, has been arrested on charges of planning a terrorist attack, allegedly inspired by ISIS.

The FBI detained the 28-year-old last week after uncovering his disturbing plot, which was reportedly hatched from his Houston apartment.

Authorities feared a “9/11-style” attack targeting military recruitment centers across the U.S.

Investigation Details

According to FBI Special Agent in Charge Douglas Williams, Said confessed to researching methods of carrying out a large-scale attack.

His primary target was believed to be military facilities, which he had reportedly been planning to strike.

“Today is a great day. We’ve taken a suspected terrorist off the streets of Houston,” Williams remarked during a press briefing.

Preventing a Tragedy

The FBI Houston office emphasized that this operation had successfully prevented a potential disaster.

“We stopped a potential terrorist attack from happening right here in Houston.

Any day we can publicly say that is a good day,” the office stated in an official release.

Legal Actions

Said now faces serious charges for attempting to provide material support to a designated terrorist group.

This arrest underscores ongoing efforts to prevent extremist threats from reaching American soil.
