Far-Right Rioters Torch Liverpool Library and Food Bank, Sparking Nationwide Chaos

Last night, chaos erupted in one of Britain’s most deprived communities, as far-right extremists set fire to a ‘library of the future’ that also serves as a food bank.

This shocking incident occurred during a riot that swept across Liverpool, leaving Spellow Lane Library Hub in ruins.

Around 300 people gathered on County Road in Walton, just a few miles from Liverpool’s city center, around 8 pm.

The riots led to the arrest of 23 individuals.

One officer was knocked off his motorbike, while others faced demonstrators kicking riot shields.

Spellow Lane Library Hub, which opened last year, was meant to provide educational and employment opportunities for the community.

It was inaugurated by the city’s Lord Mayor, with a group of delighted primary school children cutting the ribbon.

The library’s construction was funded by a £900,000 contribution from the community and local government.

Videos from the night captured the horrifying scene, with flames pouring out of the building and rising into the sky.

Police reported that rioters hindered firefighters, throwing a missile at the fire engine and breaking its rear window.

Nationwide Violence

This incident is part of a week-long wave of violent riots across the country.

The unrest began after a stabbing frenzy at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party in Southport, which left three young girls dead.

Misinformation about the perpetrator’s identity fueled mass chaos, with anti-immigration protesters taking to the streets.

Cities in Turmoil

Violence spread to cities including Hull, Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham, Bristol, Manchester, Blackpool, and Belfast.

Looters took advantage of the chaos, stealing goods from stores and smashing windows with bricks and stones.

In Liverpool, rioters targeted a phone repair and vape shop, with one individual shouting, ‘Get the phones! Get the phones!’

The mob battered the shop’s glass with a bollard before leaving the street littered with packaging.

In Hull, a Shoezone was set ablaze, while a Greggs and a Specsavers were also targeted.

Masked men were seen trading white Crocs outside the store amidst the destruction.

A Sainsbury’s Local in Manchester was stormed by rioters, with eyewitnesses reporting items being thrown from the store.

Emergency Services on High Alert

Emergency services are bracing for more outbursts today, with rallies planned in Rotherham, Rushmoor, Weymouth, Middlesborough, and Lancaster.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has pledged full support for police action against extremists sowing hate and intimidating communities.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper warned that those involved in the clashes would face consequences, stating that criminal violence has no place on Britain’s streets.

Police forces across the country have reported injuries among their ranks, with rioters attacking officers with bricks.

One striking photo showed a shell-shocked officer being tended to by colleagues after being attacked.

In Liverpool, two officers were hospitalized with suspected broken jaws and noses after clashes with the mob.

Families visiting to see a Disney Princess cruise ship fled in terror from gangs of thugs.

Merseyside Police arrested 23 people on Saturday, including 12 for the disorder in the city center, nine for the disorder on County Road, and two in connection with the Southport incident.

The community around Spellow Lane Library Hub is devastated by the destruction.

Residents expressed their heartbreak and disbelief over the library’s destruction, emphasizing its importance to the community.

Assistant Chief Constable Alex Goss condemned the rioters’ behavior and promised to bring those involved to justice.

Merseyside Police also charged a 58-year-old man with violent disorder and assault on an emergency worker following the Southport incident.

In Hull, Humberside Police reported 20 arrests and three injured officers after a mob attacked a hotel housing asylum seekers.

In Belfast, police managed a significant security operation during a confrontation between anti-Islamic protesters and anti-racist rally participants.

Avon and Somerset Police made 14 arrests in Bristol due to violent disorder, describing the situation as ‘completely unacceptable’.

Lancashire Police reported over 20 arrests and issued dispersal orders in Blackpool, Preston, and Blackburn.

Staffordshire Police arrested 10 people following disorder in Stoke-on-Trent.

Further protests are planned for Sunday, with police expecting more trouble in the coming days.

Police Preparedness

Chief Constable BJ Harrington assured the public that policing is ready, with 130 extra units and nearly 4,000 public order-trained officers deployed across the country.

Harrington’s message to those planning to cause trouble and disorder is clear: ‘We’ll be watching you.’
