ABU DHABI, 26th January, 2022 – The Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC), in cooperation with the Federal Youth Authority, organised an event in the Youth Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai to introduce “NAFIS” programme, the federal programme that aims to step up the positive competition among UAE nationals, and enables them to take job opportunities in the private sector.

The event included an introductory video presentation of “NAFIS” programme, and an open discussion of the current experiences in the private sector.

The discussion also shed light on the benefits, advantages and challenges.

Furthermore, the event showcased the opportunities available for the youth, and explained how to apply and register at the “NAFIS” platform.

All the inquiries shared by the attendees were clarified and responded to.

Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, commented on the event, “The youth are the true wealth of our nation, and they are our hope to build the future that we aspire to have for the UAE.

It is our duty to build and embrace them and pave the way for them to achieve their dreams and ambitions.

“NAFIS programme reflects the vision of our wise leadership in empowering the Emirati youth and enhancing their contribution to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.

Our youth is creative and innovative, and we should guide them so they can contribute greatly to the economic development of the UAE with their ideas and capabilities”, she added.

The Minister commended the private sector’s efforts and collaboration with “NAFIS” programme to expand the competitiveness of UAE youth and provide them with job opportunities that match their qualifications and capabilities.

Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, delivered the event opening speech highlighting the importance of “NAFIS” programme which targets Emirati talents and connects them with private sector firms which are searching for qualified Emirati professionals to fill the job vacancies.

“I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the Federal Youth Authority who offered us this opportunity to present “NAFIS” programme and respond to youth raised inquiries,” he said.

“We are so proud of Federal Youth Authority and appreciate all the support, opportunities, activities and events they offer to the Emirati youth to enhance their role in building our nation,” he added.

The private sector has always played a significant role in the economic development of the UAE.

“NAFIS” programme was found to enhance the role of the private sector in supporting the youth, providing them the opportunities that suit their qualifications, offering them job careers that meet their aspirations and ambitions, as well as enabling the private sector companies to benefit from national talents and competencies and investing in their creative potential.

Al Mazrouei highlighted that “NAFIS” targets Emiratis who are the most valuable asset of this nation.

Inspired by the clear vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who once said, “The real asset of any advanced nation is its people, they represent the true wealth”.

Al Mazrouei ended his speech addressing the youth, “You are the future and the true asset to build it, you are our hope, and we see the future through you”.

Saeed Al Nazari, Director General of the Federal Youth Authority, expressed during his speech the Authority’s eagerness to second Nafis’ efforts by supporting its Career Council Programme, which is a part of Nafis’ initiatives focusing on training programmes.

He stressed on the importance to build a beneficial relationship between NAFIS and the Authority, which will further contribute to raising the efficiency of UAE Nationals, developing the skills of young job seekers, and supporting them to find opportunities that match their skills and qualifications.
