Divers recover body of a drowned teen, search for his friend (12) continues

When experienced and committed police drivers retrieved the corpse of a 15-year-old kid on March 31, 2022, they provided closure to the deceased’s family.

This follows the disappearance of two boys while swimming with their mates at Bridle Drift (Grinaker) dam near Mdantsane.

At the present, the circumstances surrounding the occurrence are unknown. An inquest has been started to look into the incident.

The divers are still looking for another 12-year-old child who went missing in the same river.

An appeal is made to parents not to allow children to go swimming alone and unattended in rivers, sea and dams.
