As a travel agent for Marvelous Mouse Travels, I am frequently asked to recommend the best eateries in each Disney World theme park.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is a must-visit.
Science fiction provides lunch and dinner
The restaurant’s interior is extremely dim.
We were fortunate enough to snag a dinner reservation at this coveted restaurant despite the difficulty of doing so.
Upon our arrival, we were soon placed in our “vehicle” at the “drive-in.”
The restaurant is furnished with tables in the shape of chrome-coated, multicolored antique automobiles. Each car faces the front screen, which displays short excerpts of sci-fi classics and adorable ads.
The automobiles’ taillights are illuminated, but the space is otherwise pitch black, providing a truly unique atmosphere.
Our carhop (server) received our order promptly, and we settled back to watch some wonderfully campy videos. My boys were captivated by the atmosphere and thought the clips were hilarious.
We ordered some entertaining cocktails to begin our dinner.
The boys had milkshakes, while I ordered a cocktail.
Both of my boys opted for Oreo and chocolate milkshakes to accompany their dinners, which they swiftly drank down.
I ordered the magical-star drink, which consisted of Parrot Bay coconut rum, X-Fusion liqueur, and pineapple juice, along with a glow cube as a gift.
The restaurant serves traditional American cuisine.
We began our lunch with pickled dill and onion rings.
Crispy and tasty pickles were served with ranch dipping sauce. My spouse thoroughly enjoyed the onion rings served with horseradish sauce.
We all had burgers for the main course, as they are a staple of science fiction.
The barbecue burger my husband ordered is delivered on a brioche bun and topped with smoked pork, bourbon-bacon jam, cheddar, lettuce, and barbecue sauce. It was delicious and sloppy, cooked to perfection over medium heat.
We all ordered burgers.
On a brioche bread, I ordered the standard American burger with American cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, shredded lettuce, and tomato. It was also properly prepared and really satiating.
The thick, salty, crispy fries provided alongside the burgers were the ideal compliment.
Both of my sons ordered the kids’ cheeseburger meal and were able to select two sides from a selection that included green beans and carrots, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, sliced apples, fruit salad, and french fries. The mashed potatoes and corn on the cob were a hit.
It also included a standard beverage (milkshakes were extra), so at $12 each, the children’s dinners were a wonderful value.
The hot-fudge sundae appeared delicious, but we were far too full for dessert. We all agreed that was something to anticipate the next time around.
Our favorite restaurant in Hollywood Studios is Sci-Fi Dine-In.
The atmosphere within the restaurant is unparalleled.
My family has become a definite fan of science fiction.
The environment and food are unparalleled. Additionally, this is an excellent option for individuals seeking a dinner with a lower price tag.
If you eliminate the extras, a family of four can easily enjoy a delicious lunch for less than $100.
