Nigerian duo of Emmanuel Dennis and William Troost-Ekong had a mixed outing Friday as Watford lost 2-1 to Brentford in an English premier league match.

Dennis netted his seventh goal of the season as he headed in the opener on 24 minutes.

The Hornets seemed set to land precious away points, but Brentford captain Pontus Jansson got on the end of a curling cross to nod in the equalizer on 84 minutes.

And then disaster struck deep into injury-time as assistant Super Eagles captain Troost-Ekong brought down substitute Saman Ghoddos.

Bryan Mbeumo slotted in the spot-kick, leaving Watford three points off the relegation zone.

Fans of the visitors wasted no time at the end of the game – lashing Ekong for costing them at least an away point.

Relegation beckons.
