Following the monarch’s speech and the honorary cannon salute from the Sixtus Battery, a carriage ride back to Amalienborg is scheduled, escorted by a mounted squadron. At 5 pm, a transfer of royal colors will occur from Christian IX’s Palace to Frederik VIII’s Palace.
