Christine McGuinness recently shared some personal insights about her split from ex-husband Paddy McGuinness, revealing the ‘unforgivable’ reason behind their separation.
The couple, who had been married for 11 years, parted ways in 2022 but continued to live together in their luxurious £6million mansion for the sake of their three children, all of whom are on the autism spectrum.
The Difficult Decision to Divorce
In an emotional conversation on The Shizzio Show podcast, Christine, 34, explained that the decision to divorce Paddy, 51, wasn’t an easy one.
“It wasn’t something that, you know, I just decided to do overnight,” she confessed.
“We tried, and unfortunately, there was no repairing it.” While she didn’t go into detail about the reasons behind their split, Christine emphasized how challenging it was to make the final decision.
Despite everything, she made it clear that her love for Paddy remains, especially as he is the father of their children.
“I’ll always love him as the father of the children,” she said, highlighting that they still live under the same roof but in separate parts of the house.
Co-Parenting and New Relationships
Even after their divorce, Christine and Paddy continue to co-parent their children.
Christine also revealed that Paddy has started dating again, though they have one key rule: he’s not allowed to bring women to their family home.
When asked if she was dating, Christine said that she was open to the idea of a new relationship in the future.
She’s ready for a fresh start, and it’s clear that both she and Paddy are navigating this new chapter in their lives.
Struggles with Divorce Costs
Christine also opened up about the financial strain of her divorce, revealing that she’s still paying off the hefty £300,000 divorce bill.
“It’s the biggest bill I’ve ever paid in my life,” she admitted.
She explained that while people might assume a high-profile divorce means the costs are covered by the other party, that’s not the case.
“I paid for my own divorce, nobody else,” she said, expressing the reality that both she and Paddy had to bear significant legal fees.
Looking for Love on Celebs Go Dating
Christine is also making waves in the dating world, reportedly signing up for Celebs Go Dating as a way to move on from her past with Paddy.
Sources say that Christine is eager to show her fans that she’s embracing a new chapter in her life.
The dating show, which is set to film in Ibiza, will give fans a glimpse of Christine’s personal life as she opens up about her journey of healing and self-discovery.
“She’s thrilled to be working over there,” said the source, noting that Christine has found spirituality and healing during her time in Ibiza.
A New Beginning
Filming for Celebs Go Dating is set to begin in May, and the show will air later this year.
As Christine embarks on this new adventure, it’s clear she’s focused on embracing her future and showing a new side of herself to the world.
