A British tourist has gone missing in the Netherlands after telling his friends at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport that he had forgotten his passport.
Ryan Jones, 34, was with his friends at the airport on May 4 when he informed them he needed to retrieve his travel documents before their flight.
The Last Contact with Ryan Jones
Ryan told his friends he would be back shortly after walking away from the group at 2:17 pm.
He reportedly called them briefly afterward but hasn’t been heard from since.
His sudden disappearance has prompted Dutch police to issue a public appeal for information.
They are on the lookout for a large man, 6’3” tall, possibly wearing a white baseball cap, with a tattoo on his right forearm.

In 2023, another British tourist, Thomas Delafay, went missing after being dropped off at a Dutch hospital.
The 20-year-old from Plymouth had been experiencing a psychotic breakdown and hallucinations when his friend left him at the Dijklander hospital in Hoorn, north of Amsterdam.
His body was later discovered in a ditch nearby.

Thomas’s sister, Holly Delafay, shared her heartbreak publicly, expressing how lost she felt without her brother.
She thanked everyone who helped search for him and shared posts on social media to raise awareness.
Dutch authorities did not suspect foul play in his death but noted that Thomas did not have his phone, money, or passport when he vanished.
