Dale Houghton, 31, Faces Legal Action

Houghton has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning, South Yorkshire Police said in a statement.

Second Individual Arrested

A 27-year-old man, also arrested yesterday, has been released on police bail while further enquiries are conducted.

Remembering Bradley Lowery

Young Sunderland mascot Bradley died in 2017 after he was diagnosed with a rare cancer neuroblastoma when he was just 18 months old.

His story touched many across the world and he shared a close friendship with then-Sunderland star Jermain Defoe, who took him out onto the pitch before several matches.

During his brave battle, he was a special guest of BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year in 2016.
