TS Galaxy is experiencing a significant shift on the touchline as Bernard Parker prepares to lead the team in their pre-season match against Tanzanian giants Young Africans.
This temporary arrangement comes as the club waits for their new permanent head coach to arrive.
Parker Joins the Team
Parker, a former Kaizer Chiefs striker, recently joined TS Galaxy in Mpumalanga.
The team gathered at Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit for their final training session ahead of the Mpumalanga Premier’s International Cup match against Young Africans, scheduled for this afternoon at 15:00.
This change in coaching comes after Sead Ramovic, the former head coach, left the club to finalize his move to the Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.
Ramovic is taking some of his technical team members with him, including former Moroka Swallows and Nigeria goalkeeper Greg Etafia.
Parker’s New Role and Future at the Club
Parker is expected to be on the bench during today’s match against Young Africans. He was recently appointed as the head coach of TS Galaxy’s DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) side for the upcoming season.
However, there are indications that Parker might become a permanent part of the first team’s technical staff following the recent coaching changes at the club.
It is anticipated that Parker will serve as an assistant coach for the new season.
With these developments, veteran defender Vuyo Mere is expected to take charge of the Galaxy’s DDC side.
Incoming Coach Announcement
TS Galaxy’s owner, Tim Sukazi, has confirmed that a new head coach has been identified and will soon join the team.
The incoming coach holds a UEFA Pro Licence, although the club has not yet disclosed their identity.
It is expected that the new coach will be with the team for their final game of the Mpumalanga Premier’s International Cup against Bundesliga side FC Augsburg this coming Saturday.
These changes mark an exciting new chapter for TS Galaxy as they prepare for the upcoming season.
