The boyfriend of Beauty Couch, a well-known Instagram influencer, has been arrested and is facing murder charges following the discovery of her body near a burned car in Georgia last week. Eugene Louis-Jocques, a 21-year-old from Naples, Florida, has been charged with murder, arson, and aggravated assault. He was apprehended in Louisiana by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Proactive Enforcement Unit and is currently awaiting extradition to Georgia. Sheriff Randy Smith emphasized that they do not tolerate criminals seeking refuge in their parish, and they were pleased to assist their Georgia counterparts in locating and apprehending the suspect.
Couch, who was 22 years old, was a popular Instagram influencer based in Austell, known for her roller-skating and dance videos. She had around 150,000 followers on Instagram and had recently launched her roller-skating classes. The motive for her murder has not been disclosed.
Her body was discovered near a vehicle engulfed in flames on August 23. Initially, foul play was suspected, and the Cobb County Police Department requested information from the public. The fire department was alerted to the incident by Couch’s family, who reported that the car belonged to the influencer and she had not been seen since the previous morning. Subsequently, Couch’s body was found in the nearby woods.
On August 25, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office identified potential locations where Louis-Jocques might be hiding. Detectives spotted him driving on Oak Harbor Boulevard and arrested him without incident.
