Bala Usman Asserts that Tinubu Plans to Dismiss Non-Performing Ministers

President Tinubu’s Commitment to Ministerial Performance

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has affirmed his commitment to ensuring effective governance by holding ministers accountable for their performance.

The Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala-Usman, emphasized this during the opening of a retreat in Uyo, the capital of Awka Ibom, on Wednesday.

Warning of Consequences for Poor Performance

Bala-Usman conveyed a stern message, asserting that ministers who fail to deliver on their mandates will face consequences.

President Tinubu, she stated, is resolute in his promise to enhance the quality of life for Nigerians and is prepared to dismiss non-performing ministers.

Call for Commitment from Delivery Officers

Addressing delivery officers and directors of planning present at the retreat, Bala-Usman sought their unwavering commitment.

She emphasized their crucial role as the “engine room” responsible for providing feedback, tracking ministerial progress, and reporting challenges to the Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU).

Importance of Ministerial Delivery Desk Officers

Bala-Usman underscored the significance of ministerial delivery desk officers, describing them as the linchpin for assessing ministerial performance.

These officers, she explained, are tasked with constantly monitoring and reporting on the progress of ministers.

Retreat Purpose

The retreat served as a platform to introduce delivery officers to the framework of the delivery chain for progress tracking.

Additionally, it aimed to enhance the officers’ capacity for monitoring the delivery plan, ensuring they are well-equipped to contribute to the assessment and improvement of ministerial performance.

Encouragement for Optimal Performance

Recognizing the pivotal role of participants as the “engine room” for feedback, Bala-Usman encouraged them to give their best in executing the intense delivery plan.

The success of President Tinubu’s commitment to delivering positive change, she stressed, hinges on the dedication and optimal performance of all involved parties.
