Atiku Abubakar’s Condition
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, has outlined the condition under which he would withdraw his case against President Bola Tinubu.
Atiku made this declaration during a World Press Conference held in Abuja on Thursday.
Supreme Court Ruling is Key
Atiku emphasized that he would only consider dropping the case against President Tinubu after the Supreme Court delivers its judgment on the matter.
He underlined the significance of the Supreme Court’s verdict in determining the fate of his legal battle.
No Higher Authority
Atiku stressed that the Supreme Court is the highest court in the land, indicating that its decision would be the final word on the matter.
He made it clear that he would abide by the court’s ruling, whichever way it goes.
Delegation from President Tinubu
Responding to questions about pressure from President Tinubu to drop the case, Atiku revealed that after the election, he became aware of a delegation of governors sent by the president to reach out to him.
However, he disclosed that he did not grant the delegation an audience and did not allow them into his house.
No Fear of Retaliation
Atiku also expressed that he is not afraid of potential repercussions from a Tinubu presidency, citing the revocation of the license of Intels, a logistics firm he co-owned, during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
His stance indicates his unwavering commitment to pursuing the case against President Tinubu.
A Stand for Legal Resolution
Atiku’s insistence on the Supreme Court’s judgment as the determinant of his next course of action reflects his belief in the legal process and the importance of a fair and just resolution to the case against President Tinubu.
