Ark Bearers Group Holds Christian Couples Evening In Awka

In today’s society, many marriages are in disarray due to lack of understanding, love and marital bond.

This ugly scenario, has resulted to bad parenting thereby paving way for children to indulge in immoralities and other social vices .

Perhaps because of  these, the Ark Bearers Group, an arm of the Christian Men’s Fellowship of the Anglican Church of the Pentecost, Government House, Awka, has organized a programme tagged’ Christian Couples Evening.

Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzor-Okoye reports that Ark Bearers Group is aimed at bringing young married men together for the upliftment of their souls and more importantly for the work of God and advancement of His Kingdom on earth.

The Archdeacon, Awka Central Archdeaconry and Vicar of the church, Venerable Kenechukwu Nwafor thanked God for the initiative of gathering young couples having seen the challenges of parenting in this present day.

A guest speaker, Venerable Arinze Anene, who spoke on the theme of the programme ‘Combatting the challenges of parenting in the 21st century’ regretted that many people enter into marital union without the prerequisite knowledge and called for proper counselling before marriage.

On his part, the chairman, Christian Men’s Fellowship, Church of the Pentecost, Awka, Sir Tim Nwabunwanne described the programme as a welcome development as according to him, it will promote unity, love, and togetherness among couples thereby revitalizing their marriages.

A member of the group, Sir Arinze Obasi, disclosed that the group was formed as a result of the rising cases of broken marriages to train young men and women on the need to have a united family, which will make impart in the society.

In a remark, the chairman, Ark Bearers Group, Associate Professor Chinedu Onyeizugbe maintained that they are to build themselves spiritually, bridge the gap between old and new, foster brotherliness and promote Godly family.
