Antonio Conte, manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has expressed his approval for Son Heung-min to marry his daughter as he defends the struggling South Korean attacker.

Son has unable to reach the heights he reached last season, as his goalless start to the current campaign continued during Spurs’ 2-0 away victory against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Son’s performance in the final nine games of the previous season, when he scored 10 goals, helped him earn the Premier League Golden Boot award.

However, Conte stated, “I knew Sonny to be a very intelligent player.”

He is extremely shrewd and a top-tier individual, a truly nice man. If I had to set an example, I would prefer my daughter’s future husband to be someone like him.

“Currently, he may be suffering greatly because he is not scoring. But he must continue in this manner and have faith in himself because he has the possibility to score in every game, and he must remain calm.”

The Italian continued: “We have faith in him and his teammates. You are fully aware of this player’s significance in relation to Harry Kane, and he is undoubtedly frustrated that he is not scoring, but it is not a problem.

“Sonny will always be a nut in my team, given my football ambitions.”
