Fani-Kayode Lambasts Labour Party’s Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed Over Tinubu Comment

In a recent interview on Arise News, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, sparked controversy with his comments on President Bola Tinubu. Baba-Ahmed stated that, despite his respect for Tinubu, he would continue to refer to him as a drug dealer.

Fani-Kayode’s Sharp Rebuke: Embittered Creature and Sorry Soul

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, didn’t hold back in his response to Baba-Ahmed’s remarks. He berated the LP Vice Presidential candidate, labeling him an “embittered creature and sorry soul.”

Fani-Kayode expressed no surprise at Baba-Ahmed’s comments, attributing them to the lingering bitterness following the 2023 presidential election.

LP’s Struggle to Move On: Fani-Kayode’s Perspective

Fani-Kayode took a swipe at Baba-Ahmed and his camp, including Peter Obi, stating that, five months after the election, they have not moved on from their defeat.

He highlighted their third-place finish in the election and suggested that instead of dwelling on the past, they should focus on preparing for the 2027 presidential election.

Contempt for the “Obidients”: Fani-Kayode’s Strong Words

The former minister didn’t mince words in expressing his contempt for the Labour Party’s supporters, referring to them as the “Obidients.”

He characterized them as misguided, fanatical, and likened them to an army of locusts blindly following their leader. Fani-Kayode accused them of spreading lies about the election outcome and harboring delusions.

Allegations of Incitement and Cowardice: Fani-Kayode’s Final Shots

Fani-Kayode didn’t stop at criticizing Baba-Ahmed’s comments about Tinubu; he also accused him of seeking to incite violence and treason with his remarks about redirecting guns against the “enemies of Nigeria.”

He challenged Baba-Ahmed to name those enemies but accused him of lacking the courage to do so. Fani-Kayode concluded by dismissing Baba-Ahmed as a coward with no conviction.

In a final swipe, Fani-Kayode suggested that Baba-Ahmed’s insolence and arrogance mirror the character traits of most “Obidients.”
