Ian Alexander Jr., the son of actress and filmmaker Regina King, died by suicide, her representative confirmed to NBC News on Saturday.
“The loss of Ian has left our family heartbroken to the core. In a statement issued by her representative, King stated, “He is such a bright light who cared so much for the pleasure of people.”
“During this private time, our family requests polite regard,” it wrote.
Alexander was a musician and DJ who went by the stage name “desduné,” according to his Instagram page. Green Eyes, his most recent single, was released on January 7.
