ActionSA Reveals Water Crisis in Johannesburg’s Neglected Communities

“ActionSA Exposes Water Crisis in Johannesburg Communities”

Recently, ActionSA conducted visits to water-deprived areas in Johannesburg, specifically in Valley View Estate and Robertsham.

The visits shed light on the government and water authorities’ shocking disregard for the residents facing water scarcity.

“Residents Forced to Live Without Water”

Funzi Ngobeni, ActionSA Gauteng Provincial Chairperson, expressed concern about residents enduring extended periods without access to water.

He attributed this dire situation to unethical conduct and greed within the authorities.

“Demand for Solutions”

ActionSA is determined to address this pressing issue.

Ngobeni stated that the party will engage with both Johannesburg Water and Rand Water to explore potential solutions for the ongoing water crisis that has left citizens in despair.

“Water Authorities Under Fire”

Ngobeni criticized water authorities and government officials for failing to provide workable solutions to the water crisis.

Instead of offering support, these entities have absolved themselves of responsibility.

“Sabotage and Corruption Allegations”

During the visits, residents shared their frustration and anger.

They highlighted alleged acts of sabotage and corruption, with individuals profiting by closing water valves, further exacerbating the crisis.

“High Water Bills Despite No Water”

Residents in Roodepoort and Johannesburg South are burdened with exorbitant water bills despite enduring weeks without running water.

It was also revealed that households without water access had their meters removed and closed due to outstanding payments.

“A Call for Dignity and Quality Living”

Ngobeni emphasized the deterioration of the nation and the need for action to repair the damage inflicted over the past three decades.

ActionSA contends that state institutions should operate free from political influence and interference.
