According to reports, Zainab Abbas, the wife of a judge from the Adamawa State High Court, has been kidnapped by terrorists.

The abduction took place around 2:00 am on Wednesday at her residence in Nyibango, which is located near the Nigerian Army headquarters in Yola, the state capital.

This incident occurred in the same area where another prominent figure, Reverend Mike Ochigbo, was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen two weeks ago.

As a result, the Nyibango neighborhood has become tense, and some residents are considering leaving due to the frequent attacks by kidnappers.

The Adamawa State Police Command, through its spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, has confirmed the abduction of Zainab Abbas.

The command has taken immediate action by deploying operatives from various tactical squads, including the Crack Squad and Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT), to conduct a rescue operation and apprehend the kidnappers and their collaborators.


The police have also intensified efforts to prevent further criminal activities in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, has directed the deployment of officers to conduct stop and search exercises in their respective areas of responsibility, particularly during nighttime.

Additionally, electronic devices have been deployed to gather photographic evidence of individuals involved in criminal activities.

The command aims to ensure the swift rescue of the abducted victim, the arrest of the perpetrators, and the maintenance of public safety.
