What started as a long-term relationship between two women from Illinois took a devastating and deadly turn.
Now, a woman known not only for her bold tattoos — including a flying saucer inked across her forehead — but also for a brutal crime, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Woman Sentenced for Murdering Her Girlfriend
28-year-old Alexia Telles has officially pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of her girlfriend, 25-year-old Annissa Ellen-Williams.
The heartbreaking case concluded this week, with prosecutors in Kendall County confirming the plea and the sentencing.
The murder happened in February 2023 in Oswego, a quiet suburb about an hour outside of Chicago.
Despite immediate efforts to save her, Ellen-Williams tragically died at the scene from a severe head injury.
From Relationship to Tragedy
The two women had been in a relationship for years — dating as far back as 2016 based on social media posts.
But something went terribly wrong on that winter night.
According to investigators, the couple got into a heated argument while Ellen-Williams was driving.
What exactly triggered the disagreement is still unclear.
Once they arrived at the home, things escalated fatally.
Police believe Telles not only killed her girlfriend, but then staged the scene to make it look like a suicide.
What the Investigation Revealed
While many of the case details remain sealed, prosecutors relied on a combination of digital evidence, forensic findings, and police interviews to piece together what happened.
Their conclusion? Telles intentionally ended her girlfriend’s life.
“This type of case is incredibly challenging,” said Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis.
“Only two people know exactly what happened, but thanks to the tireless work by law enforcement and the Coroner’s Office, we were able to bring justice for Annissa.”
Justice Without a Trial
Telles has been in custody since her arrest and will now serve all 30 years of her sentence, followed by three years of supervised release.
The court emphasized that her guilty plea spares the victim’s family from the trauma of a full trial.
Weis added, “Telles has accepted responsibility for this heartless act against someone she claimed to love.
This sentence ensures she faces the consequences while giving the victim’s family some closure.”
A Sad Glimpse Into Their History
Social media posts paint a picture of a couple once in love.
In 2019, Telles shared a photo with Ellen-Williams captioned “Love you fo ever.”
The relationship, which had lasted for years, ended in a tragedy that few could have predicted.
Echoes of Domestic Violence Nationwide
This heartbreaking case comes just months after a similarly tragic story from Florida.
In that case, 22-year-old Nahomi Cittadini was found naked and left for dead on the side of a highway after a violent altercation with her boyfriend.
Her partner, Lorent Pion, initially told officers she was hit by another car, but later evidence and disturbing video footage showed him attacking her brutally in public.
He’s since been charged with murder.
A Broader Conversation About Intimate Partner Violence
Both of these stories serve as stark reminders of how domestic disputes can spiral into fatal consequences — regardless of gender or location.
As these cases gain attention, they continue to spark conversations about the need for early intervention and support for people in toxic or abusive relationships.
