8-year-old child alleges man ‘grabbed her foot’ at Morrisons

After a little child informed her mother she was groped by a guy who slipped his hand beneath a restroom stall in a supermarket, police opened an inquiry.

The eight-year-old reported to her mother that a guy had stroked her foot and inquired about her personal matters, such as her name and address, from the cubicle in the Morrisons women’s restrooms next to her.

Just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the store in Cheadle, was the scene of a “strange occurrence,” which was reported to police.

The child said that the guy reached beneath the partition and grabbed her foot.

Police are asking anybody who may have seen the “strange occurrence” to come forward.

The little girl’s mother described the incident in detail on social media, writing: “We were at Morrisons in Cheadle and my small daughter went to the washroom.

“My daughter was conversing to a guy in the cubicle next to her when he began asking questions about her name, where she lives, and where she attends school.

He then reached beneath the partition with his fingers and caressed her foot. 8 is my daughter’s age. Fortunately, she escaped and located her elder sister.

“This has been reported to the police as well as the shop management.” Please watch out for your children, as things might have easily become worse.

It was verified by Staffordshire Police that an inquiry had been started.

According to a spokeswoman, we were alerted to allegations of a suspicious occurrence at the Morrisons in Cheadle around 4:15 PM yesterday, Wednesday, 5 October.

At at 3.15 p.m., a male entered the women’s restroom and attempted to interact with a little kid. There are continuing inquiries.

We are aware of the situation and are aiding the police with their enquiries, a Morrisons spokeswoman said.
