According to Tinuke, she had been in communication with the man, who claimed to be a nurse based in Dublin, Ireland, since August 2023. However, upon his arrival in Nigeria in November, his true intentions came to light.
The Hotel Invitation
The man invited Tinuke and her friend to spend a week with him at a hotel, mentioning that he had already booked a room.
He requested they bring substantial cash as he didn’t possess an ATM card and planned to borrow money, assuring repayment.

During a dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, the man excused himself due to sickness and asked them to bring their belongings to the room.
