After a woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Hillman City early on Monday, detectives are investigating into the incident.

Apparently losing control of her Jeep, a 19-year-old driver was southbound on Rainier Avenue South at 1:15 AM when she slammed into a light pole and a tree at a high rate of speed close to South Findlay Street. A 25-year-old woman who was riding in the car was killed in the collision. The 19-year-old was not seriously hurt in the collision.

In order to conduct a vehicular homicide investigation, officers concluded that the motorist had indicators of intoxication and booked her into the King County Jail.
