Zukhriddin Kadyrov becomes first Uzbek Fencing World Champion

DUBAI, 7th April, 2022 – The 2022 Junior and Cadet World Fencing Championships are currently under way in the UAE, and will run until 10th April.

During the championships, which are being held in Dubai, Zukhriddin Kadyrov defeated the representatives of Canada, Egypt, Hungary, the United States and Germany and won a gold medal at the World Championships.

Meanwhile, Zaynab Dayibekova, the winner of the World Cup, won a bronze medal.

This is the first gold medal in the history of Uzbekistan at the World Fencing Championships, which is included in the programme of the Olympic Games.

Speaking to Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA), Kadyrov expressed his gratitude to his coaches, parents and the President, for his support of athletes.

Moreover, athletes Musa Aytmuradov, Sherzod Mamutov, Boburjon Rasulov, and Samira Shokirova ranked in the top ten.
