Zamfara Police Rescue Abducted Security Guard in Swift Operation Following Gunmen’s Attack

Security Guard’s Kidnapping and Rescue

Hassan Abdullahi, a 52-year-old security guard abducted during the early hours of December 29 in Gusau, has been successfully freed by the Zamfara police.

Details of the Incident

Abdullahi was taken by armed assailants around 1:30 am when they stormed the residence where he worked in Sabon Garin Damba.

The attack occurred at the home of Alhaji Kabiru Umar, a staff member at the Zamfara College of Art and Science.

Police Response and Rescue Operation

Upon receiving the distressing information, the Damba Divisional Police Officer quickly mobilized a team to launch a search and rescue mission.

They intercepted the abductors at the outskirts of Sabon Garin Damba.

Encounter with the Abductors

As the police approached, the armed assailants fired at the victim’s right hand and fled the scene, possibly sustaining gunshot wounds during the encounter.

Victim’s Rescue and Medical Care

The kidnapped security guard was promptly rescued and immediately transported to Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau, where he is currently receiving medical attention and is reportedly in a stable condition.

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muhammad Shehu, praised the prompt reporting of the incident by citizens and commended the swift action taken by the police officers, resulting in the successful rescue of the victim.
