The Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has deployed 2000 of its personnel to some strategic locations in the state, to ensure crime-free Christmas and New Year celebrations.

In a statement signed by the Oyo NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Oluwole Olusegun, Commandant Adaralewa charged the officers and men to be disciplined, patriotic and civil in dealing with the public, as every Nigerian deserves respect, devoid of humiliation and intimidation.
He called on all the Christian faithful in the state to use the festive season to pray for peace in the country, be benevolent and moderate in celebration.
The Commandant urged Nigerians to warn their children and wards to desist from any act that could threaten the peace of the state and to refrain from throwing fire crackers, especially now that the dry season and harmattan are fully here, and as such, the tendency for fire outbreak is very high during this period of the year.
