Yellow cab crashes into pedestrians in New York City leaving many people injured

A yellow taxi vehicle crashed into diners outside a restaurant in New York City, injuring at least five people.

According to the NYPD, the cab was going northbound near 1186 Broadway shortly before 1 p.m. when it jumped the curb, hitting numerous individuals before smashing into the building.

At this time, the extent of the injuries sustained by individuals who were impacted is unknown.

The taxi driver remained on the scene.
