Woman employed by eThekwini metro shot in the head ‘multiple times’

According to RUSA, the deceased woman was employed as a supervisor for the eThekwini municipality.

She was allegedly shot and killed on Old Main Road in Ottawa, KZN outside the Water and Sanitation – Roads and Stormwater Maintenance Depot.

“Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a passerby after two men were seen fleeing the scene in a red Seat Ibiza (registration unknown).

“Reaction Officers & RUSA Medics were dispatched and arrived on scene at 15:07,” said the company.

A woman was found lying next to a water tanker at the scene. She was reportedly shot “multiple times in the head, face and body” and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

Ten spent 9mm bullet casings were found near the body. RUSA said the deceased’s colleagues indicated that she was in charge of the trucks distributing water to areas with a disrupted supply.

“She had just returned from Tongaat – KZN when she was gunned down. The motive for the murder is yet to be established,” said RUSA.
