Delheim Wine Estate is one of Stellenbosch’s most celebrated wine destinations. The wine estate, in partnership with the Cape Town Music Academy (CTMA), will be bringing back its mini jazz festival. The exciting festival is set to take place every Sunday between 3 July and 28 August.

Delheim’s executive director, Nora Thiel, says the wine estate is incredibly happy to welcome musicians and fans back to the mini jazz festival following a temporary hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The jazz has certainly become as big a highlight, if not bigger, as the cheese fondues we traditionally serve as part of the even at this time of the year.”

The hearty cheese fondues served by Delheim have become a popular element of the jazz fest, not only for their flavours but also as a way to beat the chills of the Cape’s cold winter Sundays.

“With some of the hottest talent of the local scene scheduled to play, it is going to be another cracker for jazz lovers,” said Cape Town Music Academy Projects Director, Luvuyo Kakaza.

WHO WILL BE PERFORMING?

The first act of Delheim’s mini jazz festival will set the tone for the entire event. Hassan Adas, under the lead of multi-instrumentalist John Hassan, will perform on 3 July, blending African rhythms and sounds with influences from musicians all over the world.

Hassan’s extensive performance background includes collaborations with Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, and Jimmy Dludlu.
