Wellington Phoenix have overcome the absence of coach Ufuk Talay and a serious injury to midfielder Clayton Lewis to stun 10-man Perth Glory with the final kick of the game.

Nicholas Pennington scored his first-ever goal for the Phoenix in the seventh minute of stoppage time to secure a dramatic 2-1 win against the bottom of the table Glory at Leichhardt Oval in Sydney on Saturday.

“It’s incredible,” a beaming Pennington said in a post-match broadcast interview. “It’s like what you dream. I was waiting for this for a long time so I’m really happy.”
