Tuesday night, Mamelodi Sundowns will travel to face Maritzburg United in the DSTV Premiership. Before the Tshwane giants were eliminated from the MTN8 Wafa Wafa over the weekend by a 3-0 loss to Orlando Pirates in the 2nd Leg of the action, Bafana Ba Style hope to win and take three points from tomorrow’s match.

“The weekend results were difficult to accept because we are the defending MTN8 Champions, and we would have wanted to advance to the finals and defend our championship. We’re disappointed, but we don’t want to dwell on it since we need to concentrate on the league.” Said Masandawana’s defender Grant Kekana.

The 29-year-old defender discussed the team’s aims and strategies for the forthcoming encounter against Maritzburg United, saying, “Our next match is against Maritzburg United, and we will be hoping to rebound from our loss to Orlando Pirates. We hope to win the upcoming match and earn the respect of the Masandawana supporters.”

The Brazilians are now in first place in the DSTV Premiership standings with 22 points, while their opponents are at the bottom with 13 points. Considering Maritzburg’s position in the league, it is evident that they will be attempting to escape the relegation zone. This bodes ill for their chances of bringing three points back to Chloorkop.

Kekana remarked that the team is well-prepared for the match versus Maritzburg. The defender observed the opponent’s playing style, specifically how they launch their attacks from the flanks, and identified key players such as Bongani Sam (Defender), Thabo Moloisane (Defender), and Given Mashinkinya (Central Midfielder) who will make it a difficult contest for the team, but this will not deter them from competing. Bafana Ba Style will go all-out to add to their DSTV Premiership point total.

Tomorrow, on Tuesday, October 25, Mamelodi Sundowns will meet Maritzburg United in the DStv Premiership. The match will take place at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg at 19:00 hours.
