Blimey, that’s not exactly what we’d call ‘protecting and serving’. An investigation has been opened against a rogue cop in Gauteng, after he was the subject of two viral videos that allegedly caught him brutalising members of the public.
Who is the ‘rogue cop’ in Gauteng?
Surprisingly, the officer has not yet been suspended from the force at the time this article was published. He’s been allowed to continue working while the probe is ongoing – a decision that seems all the more baffling once you watch these clips.
First and foremost, he’s accused of brazenly dealing with a road rage situation by shooting a civilian in the leg. Video footage shows the aftermath of the incident, where the questionable cop is seen stood over the victim, brandishing his firearm.
The use of the gun also damaged a car belonging to the citizen’s father. This whole scene played out in the East Rand, where onlookers were compelled to film the scarcely-believable scene. It’s a good job they did, in all fairness…

On Sunday’s episode of CrimeWatch, the footage was shared with eNCA’s legion of viewers:
This is video 1/2 featured on #CrimeWatch @eNCA DSTV403 last night. The incident took place on the East Rand recently. The @GTP_Traffstats shot the victim in the leg and damaged his father’s car. He has still not been suspended. @GP_CommSafety @FaithMazibukoSA pic.twitter.com/DEzwnSy65m

Alleged ‘police brutality’ captured on camera
It doesn’t end there for our furious traffic official, though. ANOTHER video has surfaced, which shows him dragging a male out of a taxi, while trying to kick, punch and beat the unsuspecting commuter.
However, the cop makes an arse of himself on this occasion, falling to the ground and missing almost all of his attempted blows. Clearly not so tough without a gun in his head, authorities in Gauteng are being asked to take this representative off the force, as soon as possible.
This is another incident involving the same @GTP_Traffstats officer. @GTP_Traffstats says both incidents are under investigation. https://t.co/mWinbEkN6V pic.twitter.com/hPdtEvFFql
