Wednesday morning, a horrific collision between a car and a truck left several individuals, including children, injured.

Several individuals are apparently trapped in their vehicles following an incident in Western Australia, which has prompted a rescue mission.

Two rescue helicopters were dispatched to the significant incident that occurred on Goomalling-Toodyay Road in Wongamine, approximately 100 kilometers north-east of Perth, at approximately 6:20 a.m. local time.

Additional emergency services are present at the accident scene.

The injured children will be airlifted to Perth Children’s Hospital, according to St John WA.

At the site were at least five ambulances and six fire trucks.

A spokesperson at St. John told the news website Perth Now that the organization was treating “several persons with critical injuries.”

Dozens of firefighters are attempting to liberate the individuals trapped in the vehicles.

There are road closures in effect for drivers in the vicinity, and Main Roads WA advises everyone to exercise “extra caution” when driving near Irish Town Road.
