Van-taxi collision at M606, near the Chain Bar junction in Bradford: 3 dead and 2 injured

Three deaths were reported when a van traveled the wrong way around a roundabout onto the highway and collided with a cab head-on.

It happened Friday night approximately 10.45 p.m. on the M606, near the Chain Bar junction in Bradford.

Because a police vehicle was in the area at the time, West Yorkshire Police forwarded the incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

The Ford Transit vehicle was suspected of being stolen prior to the deadly incident.

According to the IOPC, those deceased included the cab driver, 28, his passenger, 48, and  a male passenger, 18, in the van. Two other persons were being treated in the hospital.
