It’s been a rough few days when it comes to facing the truth. Yesterday, however, the situation took a turn into the realm of pure madness.
The U.S. State Department, as I’m writing this, has demanded that we alter the wording of the G7 communiqué on the third anniversary of the Ukraine war.
They insist we no longer attribute the conflict to “Russian aggression.” But hold on—what exactly are they implying? What else could it possibly be?
A Reckless Misunderstanding or a Deliberate Attack?
Perhaps the State Department wants us to believe that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was some sort of accident—maybe it was just a mistake, like a Russian tank’s faulty GPS leading them into Ukraine.
This isn’t just absurd; it’s as far from the truth as you can get. Do they think we in Washington are buying into this? Of course not.
These are good diplomats, and they know full well that trying to claim Ukraine “started” the war is completely ridiculous.
It’s like blaming the young woman in Jaws who, just by taking a swim in the sea, brought on the shark attack.
No one in their right mind believes that, and it’s equally ludicrous to say Ukraine is responsible for the destruction and bloodshed that has ravaged their country.
It’s victim-blaming at its finest, and it’s just wrong to say that Ukraine’s actions provoked Vladimir Putin.
The Myth of NATO’s Expansion and Ukraine’s Membership
Let’s clear this up once and for all: NATO’s expansion was never a real threat to Russia.
I’ve been in every important NATO meeting before Putin’s invasion in February 2022, and I can assure you that Ukraine’s chance of joining NATO was about as likely as snow in hell.
We paid lip service to their hopes, sure, but there was no real timetable for accession.
That’s not what Russia was worried about—Putin was never concerned about NATO.
Instead, he was simply looking for a reason, any excuse, to revive his empire, and he thought he could get away with a swift attack that would lead to Ukraine’s surrender.
He was wrong. Ukraine proved to the world that they’re fighting for their freedom, and Volodymyr Zelensky is showing the world that he’s a true democrat, not a dictator.
He doesn’t silence his opposition; Putin does.
It’s absurd to suggest that, in the middle of an ongoing invasion, Ukraine should pause and hold elections while their cities are being bombarded by Russian missiles.
The Right Side in a Fight for Freedom
Remember, in this conflict, Ukraine is on the side of freedom.
They’re not fighting for land, power, or domination; they’re fighting for the right to exist free from Russian control.
Meanwhile, Putin is aided by some of the worst regimes in the world—Iran, North Korea, and China.
Iran has provided Putin with weapons to continue his brutal attacks, and North Korean soldiers are now helping in Putin’s futile attempts to push Ukraine out of regions like Kursk.
These alliances only show how far Russia is willing to go to maintain its oppressive grip.
Why We Must Stand by Ukraine
This is not a war of equals. There’s no moral equivalence between Ukraine and Russia.
Zelensky is fighting for his country’s survival and freedom.
Russia, on the other hand, represents tyranny and oppression.
It’s our responsibility to support Ukraine, not just because it’s the right thing to do but because this fight is as much about defending our values as it is about protecting Ukraine.
The Role of the United States and Donald Trump’s Influence
I still believe that Donald Trump has the power to bring about peace—not through weakness, but through strength.
As President, he can shift the balance by pressing the Europeans to contribute more, ensuring Ukraine gets the support they need, and most importantly, getting Putin to come to the negotiation table.
Because right now, Putin is the one who’s miscalculated, and he can’t afford to lose the war.
His defeat will be monumental, and he’ll be forced to accept that reality sooner or later.
A Fight for Sovereignty and a Free Ukraine
The two facts that will shape the future are simple: Ukrainians want to be free, and the U.S. under Trump is committed to ensuring Ukraine remains sovereign.
This fight is not just about Ukraine; it’s a fight for the very values that the Western world stands for.
And as Trump knows, supporting Ukraine’s fight for freedom is the right choice for all of us.
