UN Security Council condemns recent terrorist attack in Iraq’s Diyala province

NEW YORK, 25th January, 2022 – The members of the UN Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the recent cowardly terrorist attack in Diyala province, Iraq, on Friday, 21st January 2022, which resulted in at least 11 deaths.

In a statement, the members of the Security Council expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of Iraq, and they wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.

The members of the Security Council reiterated their support for the independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, democratic process and prosperity of Iraq.
