UK government appoints Laura Dance and Terry Jones to Marine Management Organisation board to strengthen sustainable marine oversight

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is welcoming two new board members, Laura Dance and Terry Jones, who will each serve three-year terms starting 1 May 2026.

Beyond her executive roles, Laura contributes as a non-executive director at the Scottish Association for Marine Science and at Welsh Rowing, demonstrating a commitment to both science and community engagement.

Meet Terry Jones

Terry Jones steps into the MMO board bringing deep experience from the agricultural and food sectors.

He currently serves as Director General of the National Farmers’ Union and has previously held senior positions at the NFU, Provision Trade Federation, and Food & Drink Federation.

He also co-chaired the Food & Drink Sector Council, chairs NFU Commercial Holdings, and acts as a trustee of RABI, a charity supporting farmers.
