Two men injured when a truck rear-ended another on the N3 between the Bergville and Tugela Plaza outside Ladysmith

A truck rear-ended another this morning on the N3 between the Bergville and Tugela Plaza outside of Ladysmith, injuring two individuals.

When they arrived at 07:15, ER24, Ladysmith Fire, and KZN EMS discovered the trucks in the emergency lane.

A sizable container was now laying across the one lane after falling off the trailer of the one truck.

A man was discovered lying confined in one vehicle while another male was discovered sitting in the second truck, according to emergency personnel. They were both in serious condition.

Rescue personnel needed specialized tools to release the trapped man from the truck.

Once the men were freed, medical personnel attended to them and then swiftly took them to a local hospital for emergency care.

Authorities from the area were on the site to conduct additional inquiries.
