Truck-bus collision leaves 15 people dead

On Friday, June 10, 2022, at around 6 a.m., a truck and a bus collided head-on near Bundu Inn, north of Pretoria, on the M17 Hornsnek road.

So far, 15 persons have died in the collision, two from the truck and 13 from the bus. There are eight ladies and seven men among the dead. There have been 23 injuries, with three of them in severe condition.

The exact cause of the collision is still being investigated.

Alderman Grandi Theunissen, the MMC for community safety, has taken notice of the terrible accident that occurred this morning.

The MMC wishes to express its heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have died, as well as best wishes for a rapid recovery to those who have been injured.

He went on to say that, while this is an accident, all road users should always be cautious, drive carefully, and be patient with one another on the road.

At the intersection of N4 and Rosslyn Road, the road has been temporarily closed. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the highway and take alternate routes. …
