Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy fired back at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s recent criticism about DOGE, the group led by Elon Musk, getting involved with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Clinton had warned that DOGE should not be allowed to interfere with the FAA’s computer systems, questioning the group’s qualifications.
In his response, Duffy called out Clinton and her experience in Washington, suggesting that it was the long-time bureaucrats like her who were to blame for the country’s infrastructure problems.
Duffy Defends DOGE and Attacks Clinton’s Record
Duffy didn’t hold back, making it clear that he believed Clinton’s concerns were rooted in something deeper.
In a post on social media, Duffy slammed Clinton further, accusing her of being upset because DOGE was revealing what he referred to as her “family’s obscene grifting via USAID.”
The tension between the two escalated when Duffy announced that DOGE would help upgrade the nation’s aviation system, an announcement that sparked Clinton’s response.
Clinton’s Concerns and Duffy’s Rejection of Them
Clinton, who ran against Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election, responded by questioning DOGE’s qualifications.
She pointed out that many of the group’s members were too young and lacked the experience necessary to handle such important tasks, particularly in the realm of airline safety.
Clinton also took aim at Duffy’s leadership, mentioning how the state of airline safety had worsened since Trump’s administration took over, citing the firing of FAA officials and the threat of layoffs for air traffic controllers.
Deadly Crashes and Clinton’s Sharp Words for Duffy
Clinton’s argument grew stronger as she pointed to two fatal crashes.
The first, an Army Black Hawk helicopter crashing into an American Airlines commuter jet at Reagan National Airport, killing everyone on board.
The second was a medevac flight crash in Philadelphia.
She made it clear she was not happy with the decision to involve DOGE, mocking Duffy’s choice to rely on “unvetted 22-year-olds” to fix the issues.
Duffy’s Accusations Against the Clintons and Rebuttal of Clinton’s Claims
Duffy responded sharply to Clinton’s remarks, accusing her and her family of profiting from taxpayer dollars through USAID.
The ongoing controversy surrounding Musk’s attempts to shut down USAID had added fuel to the fire, leading to protests and calls for investigations.
Duffy challenged Clinton’s interpretation of the facts, asserting that the FAA administrator had resigned a month before Trump took office and that air traffic controllers were exempt from Trump’s proposed buyouts.
Duffy Defends the Biden Administration’s Infrastructure Focus
Duffy continued his attack, criticizing the Biden administration for its alleged misuse of funds for environmental projects instead of updating the nation’s outdated air traffic control systems.
He made the case that Biden’s infrastructure bill, which focused on climate change, was a waste of money and resources.
Duffy stressed that his focus would be on safety and modernizing the transportation system through innovative technology rather than social justice projects.
Duffy Declares a New Direction for Transportation Safety
In his closing remarks, Duffy confidently declared that he was taking the Department of Transportation back to its mission of ensuring safety, with a strong emphasis on utilizing cutting-edge technology.
He pointed out that the previous administration had failed in improving the nation’s infrastructure and vowed that his team, including the young members of DOGE, would lead the charge to make America’s transportation system great again.
