Tina Brown says Diana ‘wouldn’t have been a fan’ of Meghan

On the 25th anniversary of the royal’s passing, a former acquaintance of the Princess of Wales said that Diana would not have been a “big admirer” of Meghan Markle as she “would assume.”

Diana would have seen the former actress as someone who is “pushing Harry in a path that was not good” for the Prince, according to Tina Brown, the diarist of the Princess.

I don’t believe Diana would have been the big admirer of Meghan that Meghan herself would have imagined, Ms. Brown said.

She continued, telling the Daily Beast that Diana would have been “thrilled” for the Duke to meet his wife, who had “made her son happy.”

Because Diana was so accepting, she would have been overjoyed that a person of mixed race was entering the royal family, the author said.

Prior to Megxit, Ms. Brown said that the Royal Family was “still reeling” and “simply mystified” as to why their connection with the Sussexes abruptly soured.

On August 31, 1997, when she was 36 and William and Harry were just 15 and 12, Diana died tragically in a vehicle accident.

Yesterday, on the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s passing, the brothers paid their own private tributes to her rather than doing so together in the public eye as in years past.

The Diana Chronicles author claimed that Harry’s actions were a continuation of the “War of the Wales” earlier this year in an interview with Marie Claire to promote her latest book, “The Palace Papers.”

According to Ms. Brown, he is “continuing his mother Diana’s drive to disturb” his father’s “future rule,” and she accused him of turning into a “disruptive force.”

Meghan’s quick anger is what has the family in upheaval. They’re still dazed and wondering why everything appeared to go wrong so suddenly,’ she added.

Nelson Mandela’s grandson today criticised Meghan Markle for implying that her marriage to Prince Harry produced joyful scenes in South Africa like to the anti-apartheid icon’s 1990 release from prison after serving 27 years, telling MailOnline: “It cannot be referred to as the same.”

Zwelivelile “Mandla” Mandela expressed his amazement at her claims made in The Cut magazine that a Lion King cast member had compared Madiba’s historic journey to freedom to her royal wedding three years before.

The former Suits actor remembered a meeting she had at the 2019 London premiere of a live-action adaptation of the Disney classic in a 6,409-word piece titled “Meghan of Montecito.”

She said that a South African actress approached her and stated, “I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we cheered in the streets much as we did when Mandela was released from jail.”

MailOnline has gathered that the Mandela family was shocked by the revelation, nevertheless. “Mandla” Mandela, an MP and Chief of the Mvezo clan, which belonged to the late South African President, expressed his “astonishment” at her comments.

‘Madiba’s celebration was based on conquering 350 years of colonialism with 60 years of a horrific apartheid system in South Africa,’ he told MailOnline. Therefore, it cannot be compared to being the same.

Before being freed, his grandpa spent 27 years in jail.

He then brought his enemies back together and went on to become the country’s leader.

When South Africans celebrated his grandfather’s release by dancing in the streets, according to Zwelivelile, it was for a far more significant and serious cause than her marriage “to a white prince.”

“We are still carrying the wounds of the past,” the African National Congress lawmaker said.

However, they (Mr. Mandela’s celebrations) were a result of the majority of our people being encouraged to use their right to vote for the first time in the streets.

Meghan’s assertion has drawn criticism and outrage, with some asking her to “go lost” and charging that she is acting with “utmost disrespect.”

They were also extremely floored when they chose to do the Oprah interview, and now Harry is writing a book. It’s still a cause of immense grief for them.

Harry has turned into a troublemaker in the family. For them, it seems as if Diana’s son is carrying on the effort to thwart Charles’ planned rule and the “War of the Whales.” It’s a major source of instability.

After leaving the Ritz Hotel in Paris and being chased by photographers, Diana died when the Mercedes she was riding in with her lover Dodi Fayed, the son of businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed, collided in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel.

Together, William and Harry have celebrated anniversaries in the past, most recently last year when they presented a bronze monument of their mother at Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden.

William is ‘not intending,’ a source told the Mirror, to issue a public statement. The source said, ‘He will not likely spend the day thinking on his mother’s tremendous legacy and the work he continues to do every day to promote it in any way he can.’

Harry, who left the country with wife Meghan to move to the US and is currently embroiled in a dispute with the family, also paid tribute to her last week.

In Aspen, Colorado, he remarked, “I want it to be a day full with recollections of her tremendous work and affection for the way she accomplished it.” He was speaking about Diana’s anniversary.

“I want it to be a day to honour my mother and to share her spirit with my family, especially my children, who I wish had the chance to know her. I try to make her proud every day.

After Diana’s passing, the brothers turned to one another for support throughout their trying adolescence and beyond.

When William turned 21, Harry remarked about him, “Ever since our mother passed away, obviously we were close, but he is the one person on this earth who I can actually really… we can talk about anything.”

Next month, the Sussex family will also go to the UK, but they won’t get to meet William and Kate or the Queen, who is now staying at Balmoral.

The Daily Telegraph said that the Sussexes, who last visited Balmoral in 2018, do not have plans to visit the Highlands estate and that they are currently awaiting judgments on their security in the UK before determining whether to go in advance.

They will also be evaluated by a Home Office panel to see whether they are eligible for protection from the Metropolitan Police.

The One Young World Summit, which brings together young leaders from more than 190 nations, will take place in Manchester on September 5, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will fly there from their residence in California.

The inaugural ceremony’s keynote presentation will be delivered by Meghan, 40.

Before returning to the UK for the WellChild Awards in London on September 8, when Prince Harry will give a speech, the pair will first go to Germany for a celebration marking a year till the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf on September 6.

Since unveiling a monument of their late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, in the summer of last year, brothers Prince William and Prince Harry have not talked in person.

Later this month, the Duke of Cambridge and his family will relocate from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage, which is just a short walk from Windsor Castle.

If the Cambridges move to Adelaide in the next weeks, they will just be 800m away from the Sussexes’ current house, Frogmore Cottage, if they want to remain there.

The two couples won’t have lived next to one other before when Prince Harry and Meghan left Kensington Palace in 2019.

However, a source allegedly said that the Sussexes have no intentions to see the Cambridges and that their tour would be devoted to “helping various causes near to their hearts.”

After Diana, Princess of Wales, passed away 25 years ago, a lot has changed in the lives of her two sons.

When their mother sadly died in a vehicle accident in the early hours of August 31, 1997, in a Paris underpass, Princes William and Harry were only 15 and 12 years old, respectively.

After Diana’s passing, the brothers turned to one another for support throughout their trying adolescence and beyond.

When William turned 21, Harry said of him, “Ever before our mother passed away, obviously we were close, but he is the one person in this world who I can genuinely really… we can speak about anything.”

The Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex, the royal brothers, are now adult men, dads, and spouses, yet their once-close relationship has changed beyond all recognition due to a protracted split.

Before William’s 2018 marriage to American-born former Suits actress Meghan Markle, who is now the Duchess of Sussex, Harry and William had a falling out.

After William questioned whether he should hurry into things, the Duke reportedly became upset about what he thought to be his brother’s “snobbish” attitude toward his wife.

After having trouble adjusting to royal life, the Sussexes subsequently resigned as senior working royals and relocated to California.

Following Meghan’s exit from the royal family, they went on to accuse them of racism in an Oprah Winfrey interview and the institution of failing to support Meghan while she was contemplating suicide.

Meghan openly singled out the Duchess of Cambridge for reportedly making her weep in the lead-up to the wedding.

Harry claimed he adored William and that the two of them had through hell together, but he also remarked: “The relationship is space right now.” And perhaps, time will make everything right.

William was incensed that his personal family affairs had been made public.

The issues, according to Robert Lacey, the author of Battle of Brothers: William, Harry, and the Inside Story Of A Family In Turmoil, started much earlier, notably in 2005 when Harry was chastised for dressed as a Nazi for a “Colonials and Natives” celebration.

When choosing the outfit at a fancy dress store, Harry was joined by William, but there was no public criticism of his elder brother, leaving Harry shocked by his own position as “the monarchy’s institutional scapegoat.”

The young prince started to reconsider his older brother’s participation and the injustice of William’s following appearance smelling of roses, according to Mr. Lacey. Harry felt alienated by it.

The two brothers had “no-speaks” and a significant split during this period, according to friends.

Mr. Lacey argued that Diana would have wanted her boys to stop their ongoing “social distance” and reared them with a “Talk to one another, for God’s sake!” attitude.

Harry has acknowledged that in order to cope with the pain of his mother’s death, he resorted to alcohol and narcotics.

His candour about how he struggled to cope and came perilously near to a “total meltdown” after keeping his loss a secret has been praised by mental health organisations.

William and Harry stood side by side as they observed memorials placed for the princess at her old residence, Kensington Palace, on the 20th anniversary of her passing in 2017.

They commemorated the event by having a statue created in her honour.

But following the Megxit and Oprah scandals, they only briefly got back together in the summer of 2021 to finally display the bronze memorial before splitting up again.

When Harry and Meghan go to the UK in September, they’re likely to stay in Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate, which is close to Adelaide Cottage, the Cambridges’ new home.

However, a reconciliation is improbable given that the spouses are not anticipated to spend much time together while the Sussexes are on their little vacation, not to mention the impending possibility of the release of Harry’s candid memoirs.

The children of William and Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor of Harry and Meghan are the five grandchildren of “Granny Diana” that she was never able to meet.

Every Mother’s Day, the Cambridge kids write a card for the princess, with Charlotte touchingly penning, as shown in photos from the previous year: “I love you very much.” You are missed by Papa.
