And Nigeria joined the unanimousvote to place three precursor chemicals under international control, making it easier for countries to work together to combat the illicit manufacturing of fentanyl.

 

The U.S. Embassy appreciates our partnership with Foreign Affairs, Nigeria and NDLEA over the past several weeks concerning the UN CDN-65 vote on the fentanyl response.

 

It is by the support of Nigeria and other like-minded partner nations that we saw a tremendous outpouring of participation resulting in unanimous approval of the measure.

 

We convey our deepest regard and appreciation for Nigeria’s steadfast work combating the global threat of drug trafficking.
